Dear Worldbuilder Letter 2026
16/3/26 21:36Welcome! Below, you'll find some of my DNWs, my general likes, as well as some vague ideas I have for each prompt. Don't feel shackled by these ideas - if you feel like doing your own thing, I'm sure I'll love whatever you cook up. What I find important is this - have fun and explore the worlds that pick your interest. I only ask that you respect my DNWs and keep them in mind while having fun with the prompts.
Thank you for creating a little something for me :)

General Likes in alphabetical order:

Original Work - Solarpunk
I like the ides of people working WITH nature instead of against it, helping the planet and using its resources mindfully, without destroying it. It doesn't have to be our planet, I'd be equally interested in what an alien species would look like and how they could live.
If you're keen on drawing - I'd love to see a Solarpunk city! How do you imagine it could look like? How many machines would we use, and how would the technology work? What designs would be popular, would they be nature based? What colours would people put on their walls? How about art?
It's a fascinating topic, so feel free to explore it :)
Maybe you want to show a difference between a society like ours we're closer to Cyberpunk now hah and a Solarpunk one? Or different Solarpunk societies? How do cities from different parts of the world deal with the sustainability issue?

Original Work - Speculative Evolution
I'd love to see something about different ways we could have evolved as a species (I enjoyed All Tomorrows, so if you'd like to draw/write something in that vein - feel free to explore the human race like that), or what the aliens could look like. Anything, really, I like space and aliens. Maybe something about sentient beings as big as planets, and how they could communicate (would they communicate?) with each other or other species.
If you want to go another route - exploring the possible unknown species from Earth - feel free to do that as well.

Iron Lung (2026)
Honestly, I loved the movie. There wasn't much worldbuilding there but I didn't mind. It wasn't that important to the movie, but I would like to see what you imagine the society like the one in Iron Lung could look like, how they could function. How would religion look like, their rites, their gods, the worship.
The blood ocean - if you have your theories, I'd love to hear about them! Maybe, like in Solaris, it's something sentient, maybe the whole planet is sentient, or maybe it's just a home for something other, surreal, powerful.
If you'd prefer to focus on the Light - feel free to do that. Is it an alien, or a god?

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood & Manga
One of my favourite mangas, I adore how believable all the characters are, the magic system, the brotherly relationship between Ed and Al.
I'd love to read about Madame Christmas and her spy network, if you're up for it, how many people use it, how they obtain information. Or how she seeks new spies.
Alchemy is just amazing in FMA, and alchemists in the military are such an interesting concept. It makes a lot of sense, the government for sure would like to have control over such powerful people, so if you decide to explore it - I'd love to see something about different uses of alchemy, or different types of alchemists that seek to become state alchemists.
Rush Valley is also fascinating, so if mechanics are more you're thing, go ahead! Maybe something about how it all started?

The Magnus Archives (Podcast)
I like cosmic horror, so if you'd like to focus on that - be my guest. I am also interested in how the Institute came to be how it is now, we know some but not a lot. Something from a POV of a normal employee could be fun, or a builder.
Go crazy!
Oh, if you want to explore the Institute's reputation in Academia - what do different universities think about it?

Original Work - Fantasy
I would like to see something about languages - in Tolkien, people speak Common - what does that look like/sound like? How else could people communicate?
Religion! Gimme ideas on how religions could look like in a fantasy setting, who would people with magic worship? Would it be one god or multiple gods? Would they be real (meaning would they show themselves to people, and if so - to commoners or to the clergy? Would they speak only to the chosen, like in DND?) or would they be more like gods in real life, more of a concept?
What would the Church (institution) look like? Would they control people with religion like in real life, what would be the rules of the Church in a fantasy setting?
Magic universities! Could be fun, if you want to can go the Terry Pratchett route and make it a comedy. Or you can be more serious like in the Name of the Wind.
Thank you for creating a little something for me :)
